CAMBRIDGE, UK and SHANGHAI, CHINA: VNC Automotive, a leading provider of in-vehicle connectivity solutions, is proud to announce a milestone project with long standing partner Changxing.

The joint project will bring enhanced infotainment to the vehicles of a major Japanese automaker. It is the third and most extensive joint project the two companies have collaborated on during their decade long partnership.

For over 10 years, VNC Automotive has been a key technology partner for Changxing, and the latest venture underscores the depth of the collaboration. VNC Automotive is supplying cutting-edge in-vehicle connectivity software to integrate seamlessly with Changxing’s advanced infotainment solution. The project is set to run for a duration of at least four years and deliver millions of units to the automaker’s vehicles.

The core of the project involves the implementation of VNC Automotive’s MirrorLink Server SDK within the Changxing T-Box, complemented by the MirrorLink Viewer SDK in the head unit. This robust combination empowers the OEM to run proprietary applications on the T-Box, allowing for seamless localisation to different regions across Asia without necessitating changes to the head unit. The utilisation of this connectivity protocol is instrumental in achieving this end-to-end system integration.

“This project exemplifies our commitment to pushing the boundaries of in-vehicle connectivity and marks a significant milestone in our enduring partnership with Changxing.” – Tom Blackie, CEO, VNC Automotive

Tom Blackie, CEO, VNC Automotive says, “This project exemplifies our commitment to pushing the boundaries of in-vehicle connectivity and marks a significant milestone in our enduring partnership with Changxing. The synergy of our technologies not only enhances the driving experience but also demonstrates the adaptability and versatility of our solutions in the rapidly evolving automotive landscape. It provides an alternative route to in-vehicle connectivity outside of the existing Google and Apple protocols, which have limited coverage in Asia and limited scope for automakers to design their infotainment experience.”

The strategic collaboration between VNC Automotive and Changxing, underscores a shared commitment to delivering innovative, reliable, and region-specific solutions to the automotive market. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, VNC Automotive remains at the forefront, driving technological advancements that provide flexibility to automakers and enhances the journey for drivers and passengers.
